Mazzarri Extends Contract With Inter

Walter Mazzarri has extended his contract with Inter Milan as the Italian coach will remain in charge of the club at least until 2016. The president of Inter Milan, Erick Thohir revealed his satisfaction concerning their decision of keeping the tactician for a longer period of time.

Erick Thohir said in a statement of Inter Milan’s website: ‘’We’re very happy to have extended our coach’s contract. With this extension we have made it clear that Mazzarri is a cornerstone of our project. I’m confident with the hard work and dedication he has shown he’ll achieve great things at this club’’

The Italian club is undergoing a series of changes as Javier Zanetti was recently announced to be the new vice-president of the club after spending 19 years as a player of Inter Milan while Nemanja Vidic was also unveiled as one of the latest reinforcements for the team of Mazzarri.

Nemanja Vidic arrived to San Siro on a free transfer after playing 8 seasons with the Premier League club Manchester United and even at his 32 years of age, the Serbian defender is looking forward to new challenges in his career and this is one of the main reasons on why he decided to make a move to a new league and club.

‘’I don’t think this is a step backwards in my career, I believe this is a step forward for me. Italian football suits my game well and, as I said before, I have joined one of the big European clubs. English football is different to Italian but that doesn’t mean that Italian is simpler’’ Vidic said during his first press conference as a player of Inter Milan.

Walter Mazzarri and Erick Thohir are hoping that with the arrival of Nemanja Vidic and a few other players will help Inter Milan in their upcoming season will be a better one then their previous campaign where they only managed on securing the 5th spot the squad received a large amount of criticism for inconsistent performances throughout the entire season.
