Chivu: Manchester United wrong to replace Mourinho

Former Inter Milan player Cristian Chivu believes that the Red Devils made a mistake by replacing Jose Mourinho. He said that the Portuguese manager was an experienced man and that he has a proven track record of winning trophies.

He does not understand why Manchester United was quick to replace Jose Mourinho after he has allowed them to finish second in the Premier League. He said that although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might be a good manager he does not have the experience of managing a big club and that he will have a hard time at Manchester United.

Cristian Chivu who currently works as a pundit in Italy said that there need to be some changes at Manchester United during the close season if the team wants to challenge for the title. He said that it will be interesting to see whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the experience to make these changes and whether he will be able to turn things around.

This is why he believes that Manchester United should have stuck with Jose Mourinho. He said that the Portuguese manager was an experienced man and that there is no doubt that he would have been able to turn things around.

Cristian Chivu said that Manchester United have some good players at the moment but they need to get some leaders on the pitch. He said that they need players to help Paul Pogba in the midfield as well as a couple of defenders. He said that there need to be some massive investments in the team during the transfer window if Manchester United is going to challenge for the title or even break into the top four again.

He said that it will be a really important transfer window for Solskjaer and he will have to prove whether he is good enough to manage the team.
