MAZZARRI IS SAFE

The Internazionale head Mr. Erick Thohir says he has no plans to do the analysis of the work of the head coach Walter Mazzarri in near future.

After Inter’s big losses to Cagliari and Fiorentina, some newspapers in Italy had quoted the club chairman saying that the manager’s job was unsafe and the results of the next couple of games would determine if he continues or gets handed the axe. After that, the names of some unemployed managers started to pop up with Robert Mancini being rumoured as the strongest contender.

But, according to Thohir, he and the board members have full faith in the current manager and they have not given him any ultimatum at all.  This seems to have been accepted on the bookmaker’s websites, although some are still offering free football bets on who will be the next in the Nerazzurri hotseat.

In the words of Thohir, “I have already conveyed to you guys that Walter has the confidence of everybody including me. Obviously, we want to see the results going our way. But, it’s not that we have given him a certain number of matches to prove himself.”

“I do have read some reports and its clear what I said has been interpreted in a wrong way. It’s not responsible journalism. As far as the performance of the team is concerned, we have started to pull it back. We did well versus Cesena in the away game the other night. So, currently, I would say I am pretty okay.”

Inter’s position in the Serie A table is not as good as they would have liked, which is why the likes of David Moyes have been linked. They are in top 10, but, only just. However, in Europe, they are going fine – they are the leaders in their group which is Group F.

The next Serie A game that Inter Milan has to play is against Sampdoria on the 29th of this month at San Siro.
