CHIVU: ROMA CAREER EXAMINED

Inter Milan youth coach Cristian Chivuplayed for AS Roma for a period of four years between 2003 and 2007. The 40-year-old joined the Italian Serie A club at a time there was financial doubts hovering over the team. AS Roma had an enormous debt at the time but they were still able to secure the signing of Cristian Chivu for €18m.

Roma signed Chivu from Dutch Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam in September 2003. Cristian Chivuwas a regular in the AS Roma team though his appearances were limited by several injury problems. His four-year spell at Roma came to and end in the summer of 2007 shortly after winning the Coppa Italia title with the team.

CHELSEA ALMOST SIGNED CHIVU IN 2006

Every football fan would most likely have a list of a couple of players their darling club tried but failed to sign at some point. Chelsea in particular have come close to signing a couple of great players in the past who, for one reason or another, they were not able to sign.

According to a recent report, one of the players Chelsea failed to sign is former Inter Milan and Romania defender Christian Chivu. The former Serie A defender is a legend of the game and was a defensive maestro during his playing career. He is one person any Chelsea fan would clearly have loved for the club to sign given the circumstances.

HOW CHIVUBECAME INTER LEGEND

Christian enjoyed a relatively good career especially at club football level and he was able to retire as a legend for Inter Milan in the Italian Serie A. He started his club career at CSM Resita before he played some first team games for the club between 1997/98. Christian Chivu scored two goals in 24 games for the first team at CSM Resita in the league before he signed for FC UniversitateaCraiova for the 1998/99 season. Christian Chivu netted three times in 32 league games for the club before he left to move abroad for the first time in his career. His first club outside Romania was Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie. Ex-Romanian national team player Chivu was at Ajax Amsterdam for four seasons before Italian Serie A capital club AS Roma were inspired to pay €18m for his services. AS Roma saw the quality in Christian Chivu and they were able to prise the utility defender away from the Dutch league. Christian Chivu was a versatile defender during his career as he can play as a left-back or as a left-sided centre back.

CHRISTIAN CHIVU: COUNTRY CAREER EXPOSED

Inter Milan coach Christian Chivu was an important player for his country during his professional career. The 40-year-old represented Romania for over a decade though his generation was unable to hit the heights reached by the Gheorghe Hagi generation. Hagi was the main player for Romania as they reached the quarterfinals at the FIFA World Cup tournament in the United States of America.

 

Romania stunned previous World Cup finalists Argentina in the second round. Argentina were without the banned Diego Maradona and they could not cope as they lost 3-2 to the Romanians. Romania and Sweden were involved in a thrilling four-goal game in the quarterfinals. CHRISTIAN CHIVU: LEAGUE STATS REVEALED

Christian Chivu is undoubtedly one of the best players of Romanian football in the last two decades. Since his retirement from football at Inter Milan six years ago, Christian Chivu has opted for a career in management. Christian Chivu has been a coach at Inter Milan since he called time on his football career. He has since coaches three youth teams at Inter Milan. ChristianChivu was the coach for the u-14 team at Inter Milan from 2018 to 2019. He was then promoted to the Inter u-17 team from 2019 to 2020.Christian Chivu is now the u-18 team coach at Inter Milan having assumed the role last year. Christian Chivu has impressed a great deal as an Inter Milan coach.


Chivu, 40, enjoyed a fantastic playing careerand he’s on course to achieve a similar status as far as his coaching career but it’s still early doors. He has managed for just two years at Inter Milan. The Nerazzurioffered him the chance to start his career as a coach and he’s taking it both hands as things stand.

CHIVU DELIGHTED HE DIDN’T FACE DUO

 

Inter Milan legend Cristian Chivu is delighted that he didn’t face the attacking duo of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez during his playing career. The former Romanian international built a career for himself as an efficient left-back who can also play comfortably at centreback. Cristian Chivu talked about the Inter Milan strikeforce of Belgian international Lukaku and Argentine national team player Martinez while speaking to the club’s official TV station.


Cristian Chivu praised the impact of the two attackers in the last two seasons as he revealed that defenders must have a nightmare in dealing with the two players. He expressed his delight that he didn’t cross paths with the two attackers during his playing career which ended in 2014.

HOW CRISTIAN CHIVU STOPPED RONALDO AND ROONEY

 

For many fans and pundits, it wasn’t a surprise as the Romanian international saw his stock with Inter-Milan declined over the years following his series of injuries that had rendered him a shell of the player that fans grown to admire for his all-action shows for the club.


The 2010 Champions League winner started his professional career with two clubs in his country (Universitatea Craiova and Resita), where he developed defensive prowess. Chivu got a transfer to Dutch giants Ajax shortly before celebrating his 19th birthday in 1999. At Ajax, under manager Ronald Koeman, who later appointed him the club captain, he started to establish himself as a free-kick prodigy, something that would later come in handy at various points in his career.

Conte insists he is committed to three-year project at Inter Milan

 

Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte has said that he is committed to the three-year project with the club. The Nerazzurri produced a solid challenge for the Serie A title during the first half of the season, but their performances dropped following the turn of the year. Hence, they were always playing catch-up to the Bianconeri for the Serie A crown and lost out on the Scudetto with two games to play.


Speaking after the club’s 2-0 win over Atalanta in the final matchday, Conte said that he has always committed to a three-year project and he is prepared to work harder in his second season with the club, he told: “I am committed to a three-year project with Inter and, as I always have done in my life, I will work hard and fight with all my strength and everything in my power to make it a winning project.”

Inter Milan still concentrating on title success, claims Conte

 

Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte has said that the club is not going to give up on their goal to win the Serie A title. Inter is currently placed at thirds position from six points behind the first positioned Juventus. The comeback match from the three-month-long break was against Sampdoria which they won for 2–1 on Sunday. Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez teamed up well in the match. Inter has definitely improvised from their loss to Napoli in the semi-final of Coppa Italia.


Conte in the news conference said that in Sunday’s matchtheir main aim was to win and close the gap of six points between the first position. The team is believing that they want to achieve something extraordinary.

Fabio Radaelli says Barcelona are the ideal club for Lautaro Martinez

Former Racing Club manager Fabio Radaelli has said that Lautaro Martinez should make the switch to Barcelona to work with the world-class Lionel Messi. The Argentine is currently in his second season with Inter Milan following the move from Racing and he has been in good form with 16 goals and four assists from 31 appearances.


Speaking to Toda Pasion, Radaelli was pleased with Martinez’s progress with the Nerazzurri but believes he could find it hard to turn down a move to the Spanish champions, he told: “I believe that those of such quality can play anywhere. Lautaro is a player for the big leagues.I liked it when he went to Inter, I felt that he was going to an ideal place because there is Javier Zanetti, who works very well, I know him and I know the human quality he has because we were partners at Banfield. With him, Lautaro was going to feel content but the truth is that when one is linked with Barcelona, ​​a club related purely and exclusively to Messi, a player from another planet, it seems that one forces themselves to go there.”
